Hey! I am Jasmine Garner, but of course, most people call me Jas. Philadelphia is where I was born, raised, and schooled, it's definitely home. I have been to my share of different cities but Philly is my blood, heart, and soul.

I graduated from Manor College in 2008 with my Associates in Science with concentration in Pre-Nursing. Following Manor, I attended LaSalle University's School of Nursing, where in 2010 I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I have been a practicing Registered Nurse for 3 years in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings trying to find my place in nursing. I recently accepted a public health nursing position with the City of Philadelphia which is something I wanted to do since high school. My passion is teaching preventive behaviors to eliminate chronic plagues in our community. Since I am a healthcare professional, these preventive practices will apply to my background and can range from proper hand washing to chronic diseases. I know I will learn and gain new knowledge with this new position. As I live and learn public health, please use me as a resource.

I believe the problem with this city is not our intellect because most people I meet have the intelligence and the ability to learn new things. In my opinion, people are just ignorant (not knowing), content with their ignorance, and victims of mind clouding from things that will not move us forward but rather bring us down as a community, such as material things and risky behaviors. My duty is to give back as much as I am receiving, fill that ignorant space with health knowledge, and to be that resource for questions and concerns on health topics. I am just as excited to learn from you as we take this enlightening journey together.
