JAE: Met Gala 2014

The Met Gala is the single most important fashion event of the year! Most of the red carpet regulars are: Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker (my fave!), Marc Jacobs (absolute fave!) just to name a few. The most beautiful, celebrated women and men in fashion, film, music and TV make their way to the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing ball gowns with bustles, full-skirts and long evening gloves, while gentlemen don top hats and tails.

It’s an annual event nicknamed the Met Gala, which always brings in a slew of style stars and of course, some stunning couture. Each year Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour organizes and hosts the $15,000-a-ticket ball. She chooses the theme each year. Last year theme was "Punk: Chaos to Couture". This year she had hopes that attendees would wear some more sophisticated attire. This year’s theme of the night was a tribute to designer Charles James, a British-born fashion designer known as America's First Couturier. Guests aimed for a vintage look inspired by the glitz and glamour of the Forties and Fifties, to honor the late Charles James.

I absolutely love this red carpet event compared to any other because you get to see the stars have fun in fashion. And wear the most glamorous over the top attire that they couldn't normally get away with, without being bashed for doing so. It’s a perfect chance to see them step out of the box and wear something that’s not conformed to their norms.

So, who will make the best-dressed list and who should fire their stylist? Lol.
