Females Making Sports History

Philadelphia's Taney Dragons are going to the Little League World Series. Part thanks goes to their female pitcher 13-year-old, Mo'Ne Davis. According to Fox Sports, "Mo'Ne struck out six in the six-inning game in the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship game." Mo'Ne surely takes her competitors by surprise. She told ESPN-W, "If I'm pitching I just go out and throw strikes and they think I throw soft but then they see my fastball and they get kind of scared and I just strike them out." The World Series starts this Thursday in Williamsport, PA. Good luck to Mo'Ne Davis and the Taney Dragons, may they go all the way!

Someone else is making sports history! The San Antonio Spurs have named WNBA’s Becky Hammon their new assistant coach. Hammon will be the first female assistant coach in NBA history. Hammon is not new to the basketball world. She has played in the WNBA for 16 years with the San Antonio Stars'. I would say good luck to Hammon but I don't think she needs it!
