Protests in Ferguson

If you don’t know about what’s going on in Ferguson, Missouri, you must be living under a rock. By day there are peaceful protests for Michael Brown; the unarmed teenager who was unlawfully killed by a Ferguson police officer. But by night all hell breaks loose. According to CNN, on Monday night protestors are said to have thrown rocks, Molotov cocktails and used gunfire towards police. That’s why police officers already dressed in riot gear chose to use stun grenades and throw tear gas into the crowd of protestors. Thirty-one protestors were arrested and two people were shot by civilians. All this chaos can simply be ended when charges are bought against the officer.

Autopsy reports show that the police officer shot Brown at least 6 times. Two of the bullets were found in his head. It doesn’t take a rocket science to figure out that this officer deliberately wanted to kill this young man. Yet they still don’t have ‘enough evidence’ to bring charges against this officer. The Justice Department currently has an independent federal civil rights investigation along with the FBI. And on Wednesday the Attorney General will be going out to Ferguson to see how the investigation is coming along.

Yesterday President Obama had a press conference speaking on Michael Brown and what’s going on in Ferguson. What are your thoughts about what the president stated?
