Azealia Banks Hot 97 Interview

Ms. Azealia Banks has been getting more attention in the media for her celebrity twitter beefs than her own music. In the past, she has had arguments via Twitter with Lady GaGa, Pharell, ASAP Rocky, Lil’ Kim, Nicki Minaj just to name a few. Most recently, she has had ongoing beef with Iggy Azalea and T.I. Furthermore, Banks called out Iggy for referring to herself in her song “D.R.U.G.S” as a “runaway slave master” (and previously for taking part of her first name) and she called T.I. a coon for supporting her.

Although some may view Azealia Banks as brutally honest and blunt, her most recent, very emotional interview with Hot 97 explains her frustrations and her feelings towards the Music Industry, Black culture, Discreditation, Capitalism, and what she describes as “culturally smudging.” Following the video, Q-tip supported Azealia Banks by giving Iggy Azalea a very valuable lesson on hip hip via twitter and ended by inviting her to a “hopeful healthy dialogue that maybe one day we can continue.” Iggy felt extremely offended by his tweets because he assumed that she didn’t have knowledge on something that she is already influenced by. Now back to the Azealia Banks interview, please watch it for yourself below if you haven't already. What are your thoughts? Is Azealia’s views of the industry true? Is Azealia doing too much with voicing her opinion instead of promoting her music? Let’s discuss!
