Rapper Kanye West has come out with a new clothing line with Adidas Originals. In 2011/2012 he spent $10 million developing a clothing line for women which included designer shoes. He continued designing through 2013. He is said to be his wife Kim Kardashian's stylist as well and decided to take his chances at fashion.
This venture hasn't been well accepted in the fashion community and critics haven't had much nice things to say about his clothing line, he was even booed at Paris's Fashion Week. Fashion designer Kelly Coutrone, saying to People Now “I’m not into his fashion thing, I think he’s fine as a rapper. I just think he’s a joke as a fashion designer.”He recently had another fashion show called Yeezy Season One, during New York Fashion Week 2015 with stars such as JayZ and Beyonce in attendance. He also received backlash during this event, which turned into a twitter rant.
I do admire his ambition because it speaks louder than everything else. However, people will never take him seriously if he doesn't conduct himself in a civilized manner. My opinion of his clothing line, well I for one like his choice of using mostly neutral colors and army fatigue. Most of the pieces were over sized sweat shirts, destroyed sweatshirts and sweaters, vests and 90s style flight jackets. The whole collection can be described as relaxed hobo grungy chic. I however don't like the extra over sized pieces they just look sloppy to me and I don't get the vests. What do you think about his clothing line?
