The NBA All-Star Weekend was held in NYC this past weekend. The main events were held at two locations, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and Madison Square Garden. I always wanted to go again, so me and friends decided why not, since it was just around the corner. We also hoped we would run into Jay-Z and Beyoncé!!

Some events we attended were at the 40/40 Club and a day party but the event I want to discuss in detail was the All-Star Finale concert hosted by VYBE Nation, No Crowd Control, and the Young Millionaire Team at Webster Hall. The special guests included Troy Ave, Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy, Meek Mill, and Fabolous. Also there were special appearances from Nicki Minaj and YG.

This concert was like no other I’ve been too; it was literally jammed packed with standing room only on the floor and in the balcony. I thought each act would do a set alone but all artists were on the stage having fun and performing together. Philly’s own Meek Mill some-what took over as the host and simply passed the mic along so every artists got a chance to perform. He also requested the DJ to play Bobby Shmurda’s hit Hot N*gga and they all attempted to do the Shmoney dance lol.
Troy Ave made the crowd go crazy when he performed his hit All About The Money. Meek Mill had great stage presence; the crowd went off when he performed House Party and I’m a Boss (I always get hype when he raps “I rep my city from South Philly back to Uptown”). Yo Gotti performed his hit songs YaYo and Act Right and Young Jeezy performed Supafreak and some of his hits, both new and old.

We were surprised when YG came on stage. He performed some of his hits including Who Do You Love and My N*gga with Young Jeezy. Everyone was excited to see Nicki Minaj. She came out and performed Only and was a little shy to rap the lyrics around Meek that related to if she ever had sex with Lil Wayne and Drake. We were all wondering where Fabolous was. I think he was trying to work his way through everyone’s entourage on the stage. He looked fly as always with his fur and shades. He started his set off with Lituation and other hits off his album The Young OG Project.
Overall, the concert was great! And the entire All-Star Weekend was a fun experience. I would attend again but next time it has to be somewhere warm!
