I remember when I first decided to go natural, four years ago. I was very nervous, anxious, and excited all at the same time. I was so ready to have long luxurious natural hair and completely skip over that awkward stage, which consisted of growing out my relaxed hair, having different textures of hair in my head, and having so much shrinkage.
I experimented with so many different products, tried many different methods to grow my hair, and watched hours and hours of You Tube tutorials but even still, that wasn’t enough to achieve my desired hair length as quickly as I wanted to.
There were times when I was tired of my mane and wanted to just give up and go
back to the creamy crack but then there was always that girl on a natural hair
page on Instagram who showed her before and after (current) hair growth
picture ... or a girl who rocked her TWA (tiny winny afro) with so much poise that gave me
that boost of confidence to keep on going. And in addition to that, there was
this important product that I had to learn and use over the years, which was
accessible to everyone, and free compared to any of the many products that I
ever used … and that product was PATIENCE! I came across this YouTube video
that was made just for the Natural Hair nation that was funny, sarcastic, inspirational,
and motivational all at the same time.
