Crocheted Wig made by myself @layedbylish on IG |
I remember back in elementary school when a friend of mine
had crocheted braids in her hair while all of us looked at her funny because we all were
wearing our hair in ponytails or braids.
Now fast forward to almost two decades later, Crochet Braids are back and more popular than ever! This protective style allows you to
be versatile because you have the choice of crocheting in marley hair,
kanekalon hair, or pre curly/wavy hair which can be styled into bantu knots,
spiral curls, braid outs, or even twists and braids … all while looking cute and
protecting your own natural hair.
I personally love crochet braids because 1)
it looks so natural and replicates my own hair texture 2) you
don’t have to worry about daily maintenance 3) the hair is way more cost efficient than
buying tracks of hair (and when it gets old, you can always detangle and recurl with rods and hot water). I have rocked crochet braids a few times with marley hair with
different curl patterns and even created my own crocheted wig, which I
absolutely love by the way. Below are some pictures of my favorite crocheted braids. Which is your fave?
