JAE had the pleasure of attending Ms. Fit Fancy Fitness Experience and Website Launch on April 12th, which had a special twist, providing the attendees with a unique fitness experience. You may ask, “Who is Ms. Fit?” Well, each and every one of you ladies are “Ms. Fit”. IamMsFit.com is dedicated to supporting women in the foundation and maintenance of healthy lifestyles which would ultimately prevent and/or manage lifestyle diseases. It's important to establish regular healthy habits to achieve the healthiest you. The Ms. Fit website is a guide for you via personalized fitness programs and nutritional support, that caters to your individual goals, needs, and abilities.

The founder and CEO of Ms. Fit is Ms. Latifa Uqdah, whose degrees, certifications, and experiences, makes her more than qualified to help you become the best Ms. Fit you can be. Most importantly, she has a deep passion and commitment to the health and well-being of women, which inspired her to develop the empowering, cultivating movement, Ms. Fit.
The Fancy Fitness web launch atmosphere was really uplifting, free, and empowered women. Everybody was there to support one another. It was a space full of driven women with a purpose, that were ready for a good workout experience.
The event was hosted by singer Jade Alston at the African-American Museum located in downtown Philly. The beginning portion of the launch was a time to meet and socialize with one another. Attendees were also welcome to purchase Ms. Fit workout products that ranged from water bottles to T-shirts.

Keystone first was also in the building with blood pressure screenings, first aid handouts and bottles of water (which definitely came in handy).

Ms. Daaiyah Johnson, owner of Daaiyah’s Cakes and Shakes, served us with her cool and refreshing homemade tropical fruit smoothies. Shout outs to her. She was so hospitable and went out her way to make sure we were satisfied as we were served all we could drink shakes. Please go follow her @daaiyahscakesandshakes on IG and visit her web site daaiyahscakesandshakes.com.
The second component of the launch was the start of the “Fancy Fitness Experience.” We set out with the yoga class taught by Kundalini masseuse, Ayurvedic dietitian, and Vegetarian cook, Ms. Sheena Sood. The yoga lesson allowed us to become very in tuned with our bodies and inter-beings. We used strength that we didn’t think we had while trying to get in touch with our balance (some of us had, lol). Sheena created an atmosphere which made it easy to locate our center being, release tension and negative energy, and free our minds. Please contact Sunshine Shanti Healing for any of Sheena’s many talents and skills at shantisheena@gmail.com and 678-523-1662.

Part two of the “Fancy Fitness Experience” was dedicated to Zumba, taught by Lael Leach. The energy in that room could have blown the roof off. Everybody was loose and stretched thanks to the yoga class which prepared us for this high energy and intense dance. Lael was an amazing teacher making everybody whip their hips and extend their arms to their full capacity. We moved across that floor and used every bit of space in that room. As long as the music played, we were dancing. Zumba was so much fun, fully energized and unifying. It was well planned by Ms. Latifa in bringing the “Fancy Fitness Experience” to a close. If you'll like Lael Leach to teach at your next event or attend a class, go to lael15.zumba.com or email lleach15@Hotmail.com.
The final segment of the event was the official Ms. Fit website launch presented to the attendees by a pro-mercial which JAE’s own financial blogger, Aaliya McLean, had the honor of being a part of. The commercial brought together the background, mission, and vision of Ms. Fit. Check out the commercial for yourself. Remember Ms. Fit is in all of us. Yes, this movement does focus on women, but we can be each other motivators, guys included. Also, don’t forget to support each other. Yes, this segment of JAE is very similar to Ms. Fit, which makes us even more connected not the opposite. Together we are better.

It was definitely a pleasure and refreshing to see a fellow public health student doing something extremely positive for our community. I wish her the best of luck!
