For those of us who didn’t get picked during cuffin season, this can certainly be a lonely time of year. Especially with it being the holiday season and family gatherings occurring often. And it doesn’t help that everyone keeps asking those questions we dread: “when are you getting married?” or “when are you having kids?” So you may be considering trying a different route of meeting someone, which is online dating.
We all may know those luckily few who have found “the one” online. Maybe on eHarmony, BlackPeopleMeet or a new one to me, PlentyOfFish. Some of us have even been bold enough to finally DM our Instagram crush. But if you’re anything like me, you’re scared to try online dating. I have seen too many Lifetime movies, where that nice guy turns out to be a stalker/serial killer. And we all seen Catfish where an Idris Elba look alike turns out to be Idris’s not so cute cousin Harold.
